Nigerian UFC featherweight standout Sodiq Yusuff will be aiming to get back on track after two consecutive losses when he faces Brazil’s Mairon Santos on May 18 at UFC Fight Night: Burns vs Morales.

Yusuff, once a rising force in the division, is coming off back-to-back defeats. He was leading on the scorecards before tiring and dropping a unanimous decision to veteran Edson Barboza. His next outing saw him suffer a knockout loss to surging Mexican prospect Diego Lopes in April 2024.

Since the defeat to Lopes, Yusuff has been inactive for over a year. His return bout pits him against the highly regarded Santos, who is riding an impressive four-fight win streak.

The Brazilian boasts a professional record of 16 wins, with eight coming via knockout and four of those in the first round. Known for his explosive style, Santos will be looking to break into the featherweight top 15 with a statement win.

Yusuff enters the bout with a 13-4 MMA record, including six knockout victories and five first-round finishes. The clash promises to be a thrilling encounter between two powerful strikers with a lot on the line.
