Glasgow Rangers manager Philippe Clement was full of praise for Nigerian internationals Leon Balogun and Cyriel Dessers after they inspired the team to a 2-0 win over Heart in the Scottish Cup semifinal on Sunday.
Dessers, who scored both goals in the encounter, took his season tally to 27 goals in 48 games. The Light Blues will face arch-rivals Celtic in the final, seeking their 35th title. Celtic beat Aberdeen 6-5 on penalties after a 3-3 draw during regulation time.

Clement was full of praise for 35-year-old Balogun, who controlled the defense and ensured a clean sheet. “Leon Balogun was massive, playing a really good game in the coaching and duels with his hunger and desire. I have four excellent center-backs, and they have all played well this season,” the Belgian manager told the club after the win.

Clement also praised Dessers, who joined the club from Italian side Cremonese in the summer.
“Cyriel Dessers is scoring goals and becoming stronger. The last six months have been the best of his career, and we will work hard to make him even better. I see more and more of what I want from a striker.”
Balogun’s performance is a reminder to Clement who has only used him once in the league this season while with Dessers’ current form, Rangers will be hoping to secure their 54th title in the Scottish Cup final against their bitter rivals come May 25th.
