Favour Ashe equals PB with ‘World leading’ 9.96s

Nigerian sprinter Favour Ashe continued his fine form as he won the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn in a time of 9.96s on Saturday.

The winning time equaled Ashe’s personal best which he ran June last year in the semi-final of NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The Auburn University athlete won the race ahead of another Nigerian Kanyinsola Ajayi also of Auburn University who finished second in 10.14s, a PB and Azeez Fahmi third in 10.31s.

Ashe had qualified for the 100m event of the Paris 2024 Olympics when he ran a world leading time of 9.99s to win the Florida last Saturday.

His recent winning time further reduced to the World Lead, making him the fastest man in the world this year over the 100m mark.
