Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen netted his 30th goal of the season and added an assist, playing a key role in Galatasaray’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Konyaspor on Tuesday, which booked their spot in the Turkish Cup final.

Victor Osimhen had previously propelled Galatasaray into the semi-finals with a brilliant brace in their thrilling 2-1 victory over Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe. On the other hand, Konyaspor advanced to the semi-final after an impressive 3-0 win against Iskenderun FK in the previous round.

Osimhen made an immediate impact in the semi-final, nodding in a superb cross from Dries Mertens to put Galatasaray ahead. Lucas Torreira added a second in the 42nd minute, handing the team a comfortable two-goal cushion going into the break.

Few minutes into the second half, Osimhen turned provider, assisting Rolland Sallai who extended Galatasaray’s lead with a clinical finish before Konyaspor pulled one back through Pedrinho, reducing the deficit and giving them a glimmer of hope.

Despite letting in a goal, Galatasaray wrapped up the win as Roland Sallai netted his second of the match in the 55th minute, followed by a late goal by Yusuf Demir, confirming their spot in the Turkish League final.

Galatasaray will now await the outcome of the second semi-final between Trabzonspor and Göztepe on Thursday, April 24 to learn who they’ll face in the Turkish Cup final, as they continue their mission of completing a domestic double.
