Super Eagles full back Ola Aina has hailed Nottingham Forest’s vital 1-0 triumph over Manchester City, commending his teammates and the supporters for their pivotal role in securing the win at the City Ground on Saturday.
Ola Aina played a crucial role in the victory, executing a brilliant tackle to win possession, which ultimately led to Morgan Gibbs-White’s precise switch of play to Callum Hudson-Odoi who skillfully maneuvered the ball into the box, before scoring with a precise right-footed shot.
Nottingham Forest’s victory was a timely boost, given their recent slump in form, which had resulted in five games without a win in 90 minutes across all competitions. However, the home triumph revitalized their top-four aspirations, as they now hold a five-point advantage over fifth-placed Chelsea.
Speaking after the game on Forest’s official social media page, Ola Aina delivered his post-match verdict: “Obviously we won 1-0, great goal from Callum, good ball from Morgan, great challenge from me to set it up.”
“Happy for the team, three points, great support from the fans as usual, we love you for that. Keep helping us over the line in games. Hopefully many more games to come where we’re winning. We love you and this one’s for you,” Ola Aina added.
Nuno Espirito’s team will face their next challenge with an away match against Ipswich in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Manchester City will aim to recover from their recent setback when they host Brighton.
