The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that Ogun State is scheduled to host the Super Falcons for their upcoming friendly matches against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses, along with the WAFU B U17 Boys Championship taking place in September.
The Super Falcons last played on November 30, 2024, in an international friendly against France at the Stade Raymond Kopa in Angers. Since that match, they have been inactive during the last two international windows.
However, they are now set to return to action against Cameroon, serving as preparation for the rescheduled 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will now take place in Morocco starting July 5, 2025.
This development was confirmed in a statement released by the NFF today stating: “Ogun State, the Gateway State, has signed up to be a strategic partner of the Nigeria Football Federation in delivering events, programmes and activities of the football-governing body, in a way that will strengthen the football economy as the country strives to create a vibrant sports economy to support the New Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
