Sporting Lagos will be desperate for points when they host high-flying Enugu Rangers at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos in a Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 34 fixture.

Hoping to bounce back from a heavy 4-1 defeat to Rivers United last week, Sporting Lagos will look to capitalize on their home advantage. Their stadium has been a fortress this season, and they’ll aim to extend their unbeaten run.

Enugu Rangers, currently atop the table, are trying to solidify their lead. A win would put further distance between them and the chasing pack, including Remo Stars, Enyimba, Shooting Stars, Lobi Stars, and Plateau United.

Rangers’ coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, has a special connection to Lagos, having previously coached there with MFM FC. He’ll be hoping for a warm welcome from fans and a positive result.

“After the words of encouragement from His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah, We landed safely in Lagos for tomorrow’s match against Sporting Lagos,” Ilechukwu tweeted.

“Lagos is home to me. This is where it all started for me as a coach and I’m happy  to be back in Lagos.”

Sporting Lagos, currently placed 15th on the log, sees this match as a crucial opportunity. Maximum points at home could be the difference between survival and the drop zone.
