Organizers of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) have announced that the 2024/25 league season will resume on August 31, 2024.
The announcement was made on Wednesday via the league’s official X handle (formerly Twitter) quoting the NPFL Chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye.
The 2024 league season ended on Sunday, June 23, with Enugu Rangers emerging champions beating challengers Enyimba and Remo Stars to claim their eighth domestic league trophy.
However, there is some skepticism surrounding the announced restart date. The football community has a history of seeing these initial announcements come and go, with the actual resumption date often differing.
