Moses Simon and Nantes have dropped into the relegation playoffs zone after their 2-0 loss to Olympique Lyon on Sunday in a French Ligue 1 encounter.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang scored a brace in the 17th and 79th minute to hand the hosts the maximum points while the loss is Nantes’ 14th loss of the season.

Simon was on for the entire duration of the game but fired blanks as the entire team was limited to just one shot on target.

Nantes has only recorded 25 points in 25 games and is just two points away from dropping into the relegation zone proper. The Canaris are winless in their last two games and will be hoping to change that when they welcome Strasbourg to the Stade de la Beaujoire in their next league outing.

To avoid relegation, Simon would have to step up his game and lead his team out of relegation waters. The Nigeria international has only scored once in the team’s last 15 games and has only provided two assists in the same amount of games.
