Super Eagles forward Moses Simon has ruled out joining another French Ligue 1 club if he decides to leave FC Nantes at the end of the season, according to a report by Bold Sports.

Simon, who initially joined Nantes on loan from Spanish side Levante in 2019, has since become one of the club’s longest-serving and most influential players.

With the summer transfer window now open across Europe, reports suggest that Simon is seeking a new challenge away from Nantes. His potential departure has attracted interest from several clubs abroad, as well as Ligue 1 rivals such as Rennes, Olympique Marseille, and newly promoted Paris FC.

However, according to reports, Simon is adamant about not joining another French club out of respect for Nantes. He reportedly believes it would be unfair to strengthen a rival team against his former side.

This stance comes as a relief to Nantes fans, many of whom feared seeing their star player move to arch-rivals Rennes.

Simon played a pivotal role in helping Nantes retain their Ligue 1 status this season, contributing eight goals and 10 assists in 32 league appearances during the 2024/25 campaign.

Since joining the club six years ago, the Nigeria international has amassed 37 goals and 42 assists in 217 appearances across all competitions for the Canaries.
