Super Eagles and Nantes winger Moses Simon has been included in Transfermarkt’s “most precious player” in Europe’s top five leagues ranking, placing eight in the list compiled based on players who contribute the highest percent of their team’s league goals.
Nantes currently sit 14th in Ligue 1 with 24 points from 25 matches, three points above the relegation zone. However, amidst the team’s struggles, Moses Simon has emerged as a standout performer, delivering exceptional displays and impressive statistics that rival those of the league’s top players.
Moses Simon has netted six league goals, the second-highest tally for Nantes, surpassed only by Matthis Abline. Moreover, his creative prowess has been even more remarkable, with seven assists to his name, trailing only PSG’s Joao Neves and Lyon’s Rayan Cherki, who have eight and nine assists, respectively.

Transfermarkt’s “most precious player” ranking showcases the continent’s elite performers, with Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah leading the pack, having contributed a staggering 63.8% of his team’s goals. Leece forward Nikola Krstovic secures the second spot (60.0%), while Newcastle’s Alexander Isak rounds out the top three (52.2%).
Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Tim Kleindienst occupies the fourth spot (51.3%), followed closely by Osasuna’s Ante Budimir (50.0%), Manchester City’s recent acquisition Omar Marmoush (49.0%), and Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood (46.7%), who claim the fifth, sixth, and seventh positions, respectively.
Moses Simon secures the eighth position, having contributed 46.4% of Nantes’ league goals, narrowly ahead of Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins (46.3%) and Ipswich’s highly-sought after talent Liam Delap (46.2%), who completes the top 10 rankings.
Moses Simon’s inclusion in the ranking highlights his crucial role in Nantes’ campaign this season. As a result, the French club will likely face significant challenges in retaining his services beyond the summer transfer window, as several top-tier clubs in France and Europe are expected to express interest in acquiring the skilled and experienced Nigerian winger to strengthen their attack.

Moses Simon will also be aiming to extend his exceptional form to the international stage as the Super Eagles prepare for their crucial World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
With the team’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification hopes hanging in the balance, Simon will be determined to utilize his skills and experience to help the Super Eagles secure vital victories and stay on track for a spot in the prestigious tournament.
