Injury crisis rock Enyimba ahead Remo Stars clash

Eight-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions Enyimba will be without eight players ahead of their matchday 5 fixture against Remo Stars in Ikenne today.

The Aba Elephants will be hoping to claim all three points against Remo and record consecutive wins in the league having defeated Kwara United 3-0 on Sunday. Remo who suffered a 3-0 loss to high-flying Bendel Insurance last Saturday will be hoping to bounce back from the loss.

The team will be without experienced goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke who is serving the second of his three match ban having received a red card against Plateau United. Forward Chijioke Mbaoma who strained his hamstring against Plateau United and missed the fixture against Kwara United is not in the matchday squad to face Remo.

Imo Obot has been ruled out of the encounter after picking up a knock at the weekend in the 3-0 thrashing of Kwara United, Ini Edem is expected to start in his place while Chijioke Mbaoma who copped a hamstring injury against Plateau United and missed the fixture against Kwara United was also left out of the matchday party.

Ikenna Cooper who recently returned to training after overcoming a groin problem is out of the game having been given time to build match fitness. Chigozie Obasi who has also returned from injury has been left out of the squad.

Murphy Ndukwu has begun light training but may require time to complete his rehabilitation while Chisom Okereke is still a long way from a return from a fractured foot injury.
