…Joe Aribo not interested in playing Championship football
Turkish Super Lig side Göztepe are reportedly interested in signing Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo this summer, according to multiple reports from Turkey.
Despite being newly promoted to the top flight for the 2024/25 season, Göztepe have enjoyed an impressive campaign. They currently sit eighth on the table, having amassed 43 points from 31 games—effectively securing their top-flight status for another season.
The club is now looking to strengthen its squad ahead of next season, and Aribo has emerged as a key target to support their ambitions.

Aribo was part of the Southampton squad that suffered relegation from the English Premier League after managing just two wins, five draws, and 27 losses in 34 league matches.
The Nigeria international started the season as a regular but has been an unused substitute in the club’s last three league games. He has scored three goals in 30 league appearances this season.
With one year left on his contract, Southampton are expected to offload several players to reshape its squad for the Championship campaign, and Aribo is reportedly among those likely to depart.
Reports suggest that the 28-year-old is not interested in dropping down to the Championship and is open to a move abroad, with Turkey presenting an exciting new chapter in his career.
