Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos have qualified for the semi-final of the ongoing FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup in India after beating their American counterpart 4-3 on penalties after regulation time ended 1-1.
Both teams gave their all with the Flamingos holding on in the encounter despite the superior tactical play by the Americans.
It is Nigeria’s first appearance in the semi-final of the competition.
