The Edo Queens were unable to secure their second victory in the CAF Women’s Champions League, settling for a goalless draw against the high-flying Masar FC of Egypt.
The match was a tightly contested affair, with both teams eager to claim the maximum points. Despite increased pressure from the Queens in the late stages, Masar’s solid defensive performance ensured the game ended in a draw.
Edo Queens are still top of the table with four points only ahead of Masar on goal difference. Sundowns are third with three points while CBE are without a point.
Earlier in the group stage, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies maintained their strong form with a 4-0 victory over Central Bank of Ethiopia Ladies. This result keeps the South African side in contention for a semifinal spot alongside the Nigerian and Egyptian teams.
