Several clubs, including Burnley, Stuttgart, and Fiorentina, are reportedly monitoring Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka, with formal approaches expected in the coming weeks according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs.

Onyeka spent last season on loan at Augsburg from Brentford, where he made 34 appearances and contributed two assists across all competitions, helping the German side finish the Bundesliga campaign in 12th place with 43 points.

Prior to his loan spell, Onyeka featured in 78 matches for Brentford over three seasons, registering one goal and four assists. During his time at the club, he played under Thomas Frank, who recently took over as Tottenham’s head coach following Ange Postecoglou’s departure.

Brentford’s willingness to part ways with Onyeka remains uncertain, especially with the possible sale of key midfielder Christian Nørgaard, who is reportedly nearing a move to Arsenal. Additionally, the expected arrival of Keith Andrews as Brentford’s new head coach could influence Onyeka’s future at the club.

Onyeka joined Brentford from Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2021 and penned a new four-year contract in 2023. Initially seen as a key figure for the team, his playing time gradually diminished, prompting the loan move to Augsburg.

The 27-year-old is unlikely to settle for a squad role next season, making the coming weeks decisive for his future. Brentford are reportedly keen to resolve his situation before their preseason preparations get underway.

Onyeka will be seeking guarantees of regular playing time, as he aims to secure his place in the Super Eagles squad for important upcoming fixtures, including the World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations set to begin in December.
