Championship outfit Blackburn have reached an agreement to sign out-of-favour Nigerian international Emmanuel Dennis from Premier league side, Nottingham Forest.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Dennis is en route to undergo a medical examination, after which he will be officially unveiled as a Blackburn player.
Emmanuel Dennis’s playing time at Nottingham Forest has been limited due to the impressive form of Chris Wood and the presence of Taiwo Awoniyi as the second-choice striker.
As a result, Dennis was unlikely to see significant playing time under Head Coach Nuno Espirito Santo for the remainder of the season, unless he secured a transfer.
Reports suggested that Emmanuel Dennis was linked to moves to French side Toulouse and Bundesliga team Werder Bremen. However, it appears that Blackburn has successfully won the race to secure the Nigerian striker’s services.
If a move materialises, Emmanuel Dennis will be motivated to revive his career by earning consistent playing time at Blackburn. Meanwhile, Blackburn will hope that Dennis’s experience and quality will be crucial in their pursuit of promotion to the Premier League.
