Super Eagles Head Coach Eric Chelle has made some adjustments to his squad ahead of the upcoming friendly match against Russia, unveiling a revised 19-man roster.
The goalkeeping department remains unchanged since first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was not included in the squad due to the upcoming burial ceremonies for his late parents. Meanwhile, Maduka Okoye, who plays in Italy, and Amas Obasogie, based in Tanzania, will compete for the starting spot in goal.
Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina excused himself from the friendly and he has been replaced by Sodiq Ismaila of Remo Stars while Brentford’s rising talent Benjamin Fredrick will remain with the squad following his standout performance in the Unity Cup Final against Jamaica.
In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi sustained an injury after playing both games in the Unity Cup, with Enugu Rangers’ Saviour Isaac named as his replacement. Meanwhile, Krasnodar forward Olakunle Olasegun has been added to the attack, as Samuel Chukwueze and Kelechi Iheanacho have excused themselves to attend to family matters.
Nathan Tella is unable to join the team as his United Kingdom passport is undergoing a renewal process while Sadiq Umar has suffered an injury, prompting his withdrawal from the squad.

The team, which arrived in Moscow on Monday, will begin training
sessions on Tuesday.
The International friendly match will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at the 78,000-capacity Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, marking the first-ever senior-level meeting between the two nations.
The match serves as a crucial test for both teams, with the Super Eagles aiming to maintain their unbeaten streak following their recent Unity Cup victory, and Russia seeking to challenge themselves against a formidable opponent.
