Zimbabwe’s Warriors have kicked off their training in Uyo, Nigeria, as they gear up for their World Cup qualifying match against the Super Eagles, scheduled for Tuesday, March 25 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Zimbabwe’s national team arrived in Nigeria yesterday, touching down in Lagos before heading to Uyo for the highly-anticipated encounter against the Super Eagles.

The Warriors are hungry for their first World Cup qualifier victory, building on their impressive comeback in the previous match, where they salvaged a 2-2 draw against Benin Republic, courtesy of crucial goals from Marshall Munetsi and Knowledge Musona.

Zimbabwe’s World Cup qualification chances are on thin ice after earning only three points from five matches, and now a win against Nigeria’s Super Eagles is crucial if they hope to stay in contention for the 2026 World Cup.

On the other hand, the Super Eagles revitalized their World Cup qualifying hopes with a convincing 2-0 victory over Rwanda, moving them up to fourth place with six points and injecting new momentum into their campaign.

The stage is thus set for a high-stakes showdown between Zimbabwe and Nigeria, with both teams desperate for a win. The game is scheduled to kick off at 5pm Nigerian time on Tuesday.
