Zeke Nnaji reached a career milestone, surpassing 1,000 NBA points in the Denver Nuggets’ thrilling 149-141 overtime victory against the Phoenix Suns at Ball Arena on Friday night (Saturday morning Nigerian time).
Entering the game, the 24-year-old had 999 career points across five NBA seasons. He contributed six points in 13 minutes, bringing his career total to 1,005 points.
Despite spending several years in the league, Nnaji’s playing time has been limited due to the presence of three-time NBA Most Valuable Player Nikola Jokić, whom he serves as a backup. As a result, he has focused more on his defensive contributions rather than developing his offensive game.

Nnaji currently ranks 27th among top scorers from the 2020 NBA Draft lottery class, ahead of only three players: Kira Lewis Jr. (687 points), Udoka Azubuike (256 points), and Leandro Bolmaro (56 points).
Despite his limited role, the Nuggets have shown confidence in him, securing his future with a four-year, $32 million contract extension on October 22, 2023.
