Rookie sensation Kiki Iriafen continued her impressive start to life in the WNBA, posting 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds to help the Washington Mystics secure a narrow 90-85 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday.
The win sees the Mystics improve to 2-0 on the season, placing them second in the Eastern Conference behind the Minnesota Lynx, who also remain unbeaten in their first two games of the 2025 campaign.
Kiki Iriafen recorded season-highs in both points and rebounds, while guard Brittney Sykes led all scorers with 27 points, along with seven assists and two rebounds. Jade Melbourne and fellow rookie Sonia Citron also contributed significantly, scoring 15 points apiece.

This marks back-to-back standout performances for Iriafen, who notched 14 points in her WNBA debut against the Atlanta Dream in a hard-fought 94-90 win.
Next up, Kiki Iriafen and the Mystics will aim to extend their winning streak when they face the Golden State Valkyries on Thursday at the Chase Center.
Veteran forward Tina Charles, the 2012 WNBA Most Valuable Player, delivered a double-double for the Sun in the loss, finishing with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. Olivia Nelson-Ododa also contributed significantly, adding 18 points and eight rebounds.
