Rookie Kiki Iriafen delivered a career-high 20 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Washington Mystics from falling 85–76 to the Indiana Fever, who were without star guard Caitlin Clark.

The loss marks Washington’s fifth of the 2025 WNBA season.

It was a tightly contested first half, with the Fever holding a narrow 38–34 lead at the break. However, Indiana pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Mystics 31–21 to build a comfortable cushion. Despite a spirited effort from Washington in the final quarter, the damage had already been done.

Starting her eighth consecutive game of the season, Iriafen shared team-high scoring honours with 20 points and added nine rebounds. Veteran Brittney Sykes also scored 20 points, contributing six rebounds and four assists, while rookie Sonia Citron chipped in with 13 points, seven rebounds, and an assist.

In Caitlin Clark’s absence, Kelsey Mitchell stepped up for the Fever with a game-high 24 points, guiding her team to their fourth win of the season. Lexie Hull added 14 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Aliyah Boston finished with 10 points.

Next up for Iriafen and the Mystics is a daunting matchup against the unbeaten Eastern Conference leaders, the New York Liberty, led by stars Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart.

Washington heads into the game with just a 13% chance of victory, according to projections. However, they will be hoping to upset the WNBA defending champions.
