Werder Bremen fullback Felix Agu has been cleared to play for the Super Eagles ahead of the upcoming Unity Cup Tournament in London and Nigeria’s international friendly match against Russia.

According to the NFF, The German Football Federation have written to confirm that the player has never represented them at any official game at the A and Junior level.

The 25-year-old only previously featured for Germany’s U-21 team in two friendly matches back in 2019, making him eligible to play for Nigeria.

Felix Agu is a versatile defender who can operate effectively at both left-back and right-back, providing the Super Eagles with valuable flexibility. He also proved to be an attacking threat in the recently concluded Bundesliga season, winning the most penalties (3) of any player in the league.

With Coach Eric Chelle acknowledging that the Unity Cup presents an opportunity to experiment with new players in various roles, it remains uncertain whether Felix Agu will get the chance to make his dream debut for the Super Eagles, especially as he was initially included in the squad solely for training purposes.
