Highly-rated Nigerian talent Vince Osuji made a significant impact for Club Brugge on Saturday, scoring both goals in their 2-0 victory over KV Kortrijk in the team’s first practice match, Bold Sports reports.
Although naturally a defender, Osuji was deployed in midfield by Club Brugge head coach Nicky Hayen for the game, and he made the most of the opportunity to showcase his versatility.
Osuji opened the scoring in the 27th minute, reacting quickly to smash home a rebound after Jorne Spileers’ cross struck the post. He doubled the advantage just ten minutes later with a composed lob over the Kortrijk goalkeeper, capitalising on a defensive mix-up.
The brace marked Osuji’s first notable contribution since joining Club Brugge in January from Swedish club Kalmar FF, having signed a contract that runs until 2029. Since his arrival, he has mainly featured for Club Brugge NXT and was named on the senior team’s bench for their final game of the season against Royal Antwerp.

During his stint at Kalmar FF, Osuji impressed with consistent performances, making 16 appearances and scoring once for the Swedish side.
Though his time in Sweden lasted only from April to November, his standout displays were enough to attract the attention of Club Brugge scouts, ultimately securing his move to Belgium.
After his eye-catching performance, Osuji will now be hoping to earn more opportunities with the senior squad in upcoming games and when the new campaign begins.
