…Osimhen scored 36 goals for Galatasaray
Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has shared his thoughts on Victor Osimhen’s future, hailing him as the best striker in the world and expressing hope that the Nigerian forward will secure a move to the Premier League.
Victor Osimhen’s future is generating significant buzz as the summer transfer window approaches. The Nigerian striker is widely expected to leave Napoli and is also not set to continue at Galatasaray, despite enjoying an excellent season with the Turkish club.

The 26-year-old played a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s success this season, netting a brace in the 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor to clinch the club’s first Turkish Cup title since 2019. Osimhen also made a major impact in their league campaign, scoring 25 goals and registering five assists to help the Turkish giants secure their 25th Super Lig title.
Speaking with SportyTV, Omeruo who also played in the Super Lig with Kasimpasa, shared high praise for Osimhen, describing him as the best striker in the world while recalling a conversation they had before the forward’s move to Galatasaray.
“Right now he’s the best striker in the world for me. When he was about to go to Galatasaray, we spoke, I told him, they’ll kill you with love.”
“In Turkey, the fans make you appreciate, they make you love your job. It’s not just about the club you’re playing. As long as you’re a football player, you’re a star for them,” Omeruo revealed.
The 31-year-old expressed his desire to see Osimhen take on a new challenge in the Premier League, backing him to succeed at the highest level.

“I want to see Victor in the Premier League, no doubt. I want to see him there. I want him to conquer the league.”
When asked which club he would prefer Osimhen to join, Omeruo didn’t hesitate to name his former side, Chelsea. He hinted that a move to Stamford Bridge would be more ideal than a switch to Arsenal, who are also reportedly keen on signing the prolific striker: “Of course Chelsea. Arsenal needs him, but I want him to win trophies.”
Omeruo further shared his thoughts on the current state of the national team, highlighting the significance of the ongoing Unity Cup and offering his impressions of the head coach, Eric Chelle.

“Obviously the Unity Cup is being played now in the UK. We need tournaments like this, we need to pick the right players.”
“I was very upset that they didn’t win against Zimbabwe because that would have changed a lot of things for us. But I believe Nigeria has too many talents and we need someone who can maximise their potentials.”
“I’ve spoken with the new coach and I think he has a vision and I see what he wants to do with the team. I hope he can achieve it because we deserve to be the number 1 team in Africa.”
