Newly promoted Turkish Süper Lig side Kocaelispor are eyeing a move for Super Eagles winger Henry Onyekuru as they look to bolster their squad ahead of their return to top-flight football.
Onyekuru is currently contracted to Saudi Arabian club Al-Fayha, but the winger has endured a challenging season following a long-term injury that sidelined him for nearly half the campaign.
The 27-year-old is no stranger to Turkish football, having spent nearly five seasons in the Süper Lig. He had three loan spells at Galatasaray and later featured for two seasons with Adana Demirspor. Notably, he was part of the Galatasaray squad that won the domestic double during the 2018/19 season.

According to Turkish outlet Fanatik, Kocaelispor are not the only club interested in the Nigeria international. Eyüpspor, currently sixth in the league and chasing a continental spot, are also keen to add Onyekuru to their ranks.
A transfer could be straightforward, as Onyekuru is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. Reports suggest he is currently assessing his options, weighing which project offers the best fit and immediate impact.
Onyekuru had an impressive debut season with Al-Fayha, scoring 11 goals and registering three assists in 34 appearances. However, his second season has been hampered by injury, limiting him to just four games.
Kocaelispor were promoted to the topflight after being crowned champions of the Turkish TFF First League. It is their first promotion to the topflight in 16 years.
