Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong, took on an exciting challenge, assembling his dream 5-a-side team comprised of past and present Nigerian national team players, showcasing his in-depth knowledge of the game and the Super Eagles.

William Troost-Ekong who initially represented Netherlands at the under-19 and under-20 levels chose to represent Nigeria before making his senior debut for the Super Eagles on June 13, 2015, in an AFCON qualifying match against Chad. Since then, he has become a respected member of the team, earning the captaincy and the admiration of supporters.

In a recent interview with Football Journalist Ayodele Olu Ibidapo on his YouTube channel, Troost-Ekong revealed his dream 5-a-side Super Eagles team, choosing the legendary Vincent Enyeama as his goalkeeper and former head coach and center back, late Stephen Keshi, in defense.

Troost-Ekong’s midfield and attack was star-studded, selecting Premier League and Champions League winner John Obi Mikel, dribbling maestro Jay Jay Okocha, and two-time African footballer of the year, Nwankwo Kanu.

As the Super Eagles prepare for crucial World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March 21 and 25 respectively, William Troost-Ekong will be looking to draw inspiration from the legends he selected in his dream team, aiming to lead the team to victory in these must-win matches and ultimately secure a spot in the World Cup.
