The Troost Ekong Foundation has unveiled Foundations, a documentary showcasing its efforts in empowering young Nigerians through sports, education, and community development. The film, now available on YouTube, tells the stories of youth in Akwa Ibom State whose lives have been transformed through the foundation’s initiatives.
Alongside the documentary’s release, the foundation has announced plans for the 2025 Charity Football Match, scheduled for June 21 in Lagos State. The event will bring together top athletes, celebrities, and community leaders to raise funds for programs aimed at creating opportunities for Nigerian youth.
“We are incredibly excited to share the Foundations documentary with the world,” said William Troost-Ekong, founder of the Troost Ekong Foundation. “This film is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in TEF, and it showcases the incredible potential of young people when given the right opportunities.”
As part of its long-term commitment to youth development, the foundation is also setting up a state-of-the-art Sports & Skills Academy in Akwa Ibom State. The academy will provide young people with athletic training, educational resources, and essential life skills to help them succeed.

The 2025 Charity Football Match will feature prominent figures from sports and entertainment in a day of football and philanthropy. Proceeds from the match will go towards the foundation’s ongoing initiatives, including the development of the Sports & Skills Academy.
