Nigerian captain William Troost-Ekong shared his commitment to recovering from his recent surgery and returning to the field in top form.
Troost-Ekongsustained a severe hamstring injury while playing for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations in February. Despite the pain, Troost-Ekong played through the tournament, even leading his team to the final and earning Player of the Tournament honors.

After undergoing diagnosis and consultation with his club PAOK, it was determined that surgery was necessary. Although this will likely sideline him until the season’s end, Troost-Ekong remains positive and focused on a full recovery.
“I gave everything and pushed myself,” he stated on social media. “Every player plays through pain at some point, but after careful consideration, surgery is the best choice for my long-term health.”
The Nigeria international expressed his dedication to both PAOK and his fans, concluding with the message, “My focus is on coming back stronger than ever. Let’s Go PAOK!”
