German winger Leroy Sané has become the second most valuable arrival ever in the Süper Lig, trailing only Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan last summer with a market valuation of €100 million, per Transfermarkt.
Sané’s transfer to Galatasaray was officially confirmed yesterday, with the Turkish giants announcing that the former Bayern Munich star has signed a three-year deal. The 28-year-old will earn a net guaranteed salary of €9 million annually, in addition to a net loyalty bonus of €3 million per season.
Sané is Galatasaray’s first acquisition of the transfer window, as the reigning Turkish champions begin assembling a stronger squad in preparation for their return to the UEFA Champions League. Among their top targets is Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, whom the club is keen to sign on a permanent basis following a highly successful loan spell.

During his loan stint, Osimhen played a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s domestic double, firing the club to both the Süper Lig title and the Turkish Cup. He scored an astonishing 37 goals and registered seven assists, earning him the league’s Golden Boot and the Best Player award in a season to remember for the 25-time Turkish champions.
Despite his exceptional performances, Osimhen’s market valuation dropped by €30 million over the season, sliding from €100 million to €70 million according to Transfermarkt. That figure is reportedly in line with Napoli’s current asking price as negotiations continue for a possible permanent transfer.
Galatasaray fans are buzzing with anticipation over the potential attacking trio of Sané, Osimhen, and Barış Alper Yılmaz. The latter had 19 goal contributions last season and developed a strong on-field chemistry with Osimhen, raising hopes of a dynamic front line next term.
However, it remains uncertain whether Osimhen will extend his stay in Istanbul. While the club pushes to secure his signature, interest from an unnamed Italian side and continued monitoring from Manchester United may influence the Nigerian’s final decision in the coming weeks.
