Russia midfielder Danil Glebov expects a tough challenge when the national team takes on Nigeria in Thursday’s BetBoom friendly at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium.

Glebov, who plays for Dynamo Moscow, believes the Super Eagles possess the kind of quality that makes every match against them competitive — regardless of which players are missing.

“We’ve been watching their games for two days,” he said in his pre-match interview. “They’re a good team: physically strong and technically skilled players. We’ve got an interesting match ahead of us tomorrow.”

While Nigeria will be without several top names — including Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Samuel Chukwueze — Glebov insists that doesn’t weaken the threat they pose.

“There is no point in singling out anyone,” he said when asked which Nigerian player stands out. “They are all high-level players. I think it is not a problem for them that, as you say, key players have not arrived.”

The friendly will serve as a test for both teams as they look to build rhythm and experiment with lineups and tactics. For Nigeria, it’s part of their preparation under new coach Eric Schell, while Russia continue to tune up with one eye on future competitions.

The match between Russia and Nigeria will be played on Thursday, June 6, at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. Kick-off is at 18:00 Nigerian time.
