Russia name 31-man squad for Super Eagles friendly

Russia have announced a 31-man squad for their upcoming friendlies against Nigeria and Belarus in June.

Head coach Valery Karpin included four goalkeepers, 13 defenders, 13 midfielders and three forwards for the BetBoom national team matches scheduled for June 6 and 10.

Among the notable names in the Russian squad are Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Matvey Safonov and Anton Miranchuk of Swiss side Sion. The rest of the players are based in the Russian Premier League.

The Super Eagles are expected to use the match as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers resuming later in June.

Eagles coach Eric Chelle last week released a 21-man list in the squad to face the Russian team.
