Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu will be hungry for his first trophy with Trabzonspor as they face Besiktas in the Turkish Cup final on Thursday. The match will take place at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Başakşehir.

Onuachu, despite missing games due to injury, fitness, and national team commitments, has been a key player for Trabzonspor, scoring an impressive 16 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions. Trabzonspor will be heavily reliant on his goal-scoring prowess in the all-important final.

Trabzonspor’s cup journey began in the fourth round, where they secured convincing 3-1 victories against both Çorum and Manisa in the fifth round. They then edged past Gençlerbirliği 2-1 in the round of 16 before a hard-fought 1-0 win over Başakşehir in the quarterfinals.

The semi-finals saw Trabzonspor dominate Fatih Karagümrük, winning the first leg 3-2 and following it up with a resounding 4-0 victory in the second leg to secure a 7-2 aggregate win.

This season, both teams secured home wins against each other in the Turkish Super Lig. Onuachu was on the scoresheet in Trabzonspor’s 3-0 victory in September. He’ll be hoping to repeat that feat and finish the season on a high by lifting the Turkish Cup trophy.
