Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has continued his impressive form for Galatasaray, scoring his 21st league goal of the season to help the league leaders seal a 2-1 win over Samsunspor in their Super Lig clash on Friday.
Fresh off his brace against rivals Fenerbahçe in their intense Turkish Cup encounter, Osimhen came into the Samsunspor game full of confidence after netting 11 goals in his last seven games for club and country.
The Nigerian striker however needed to deliver once again, with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe closing in on the league leaders, reducing the gap to only three points behind them, with eight games left to play.
Despite the efforts of the home side to stop them, Galatasaray got an early lead in the 14th minute as Victor Osimhen’s strike was headed towards Yunus Akgün, who wasted no time in firing an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

Few minutes into the second half, the duo combined once again to increase Galatasaray’s advantage with Akgün’s well-timed through pass finding Osimhen, who calmly slotted the ball beyond the goalkeeper and into the back of the net, ultimately giving the away side all three points.
The dominant 2-0 win means Galatasaray have now accrued 74 points in the Super Lig, six more than Fenerbahçe who remain second with an outstanding game. Meanwhile, Samsunspor remain third with 51 points, three points ahead of fourth-placed Besiktas.
Up next for Galatasaray is a home game against Bodrum FK on Friday, April 18 where they will be seeking for victory once again as they continue their quest to lift the Super Lig title for the third year running.
