Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly rejected a lucrative move to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal, paving the way for Turkish giants Galatasaray to take the lead in the race for his signature.
Al Hilal made a €70 million bid to Napoli and proposed a €30 million annual salary to Victor Osimhen in an effort to finalise the transfer before the Club World Cup.
However, with personal terms yet to be agreed upon, Osimhen is now poised to become the second high-profile player, after Bruno Fernandes, to turn down a move to the Saudi club.

Al Hilal had earmarked Victor Osimhen as a marquee signing in preparation for the Club World Cup kicking off on June 15. The Nigerian striker had also received the green light from newly appointed head coach Simone Inzaghi, alongside other top targets Theo Hernandez and Atalanta’s Ederson.
With Al Hilal now likely out of contention, focus has swiftly turned to Galatasaray, who are keen on making Victor Osimhen’s stay permanent after a successful loan spell last season.
The Turkish champions have reportedly presented a strong proposal to the striker and his camp, offering €15 million per year — significantly less than Al Hilal’s package — but with the added incentive of Champions League football.
According to football journalist Buchi Laba, an unnamed Italian club have also entered the race for the Nigeria international and are reportedly prepared to meet both his release clause and salary demands.
