Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen was on target as Galatasaray sealed the Turkish Super Lig title with a dominant 3-0 victory over Kayserispor on Sunday.

Needing just a win or draw to clinch their 25th domestic league title ahead of fierce rivals Fenerbahce, Galatasaray delivered in style at RAMS Park.

The hosts struck twice in quick succession, with Osimhen opening the scoring in the 26th minute, followed by a goal from Barış Yılmaz just three minutes later. Club captain and goalkeeper Fernando Muslera capped off the performance with a penalty in the 89th minute to seal the emphatic win.

Osimhen’s goal takes his league tally to 25 goals in 29 appearances, while his overall numbers this season rise to an impressive 36 goals and eight assists in 40 games across all competitions.

Reacting to the title win, Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk expressed pride in his team and everyone involved in their successful campaign.

“We are in an incredible environment. I have goosebumps. Thank God,” Buruk said. “Both I and the Galatasaray fans have witnessed a team filled with wonderful people. I am proud of them, proud of our fans. It was a very important year.”

“Last year, I said our goal was five stars—we achieved that today. Of course, our goal next season is to become champions again. I’m proud of my players and our entire community. May this victory bring joy to everyone. Thank God.”

“I won four championships as a player, and now the aim is to win four as a coach. There’s an amazing atmosphere and incredible fans. They should be proud of these players. We’re grateful to be on this journey with them.”

With this latest title, Osimhen has now won league trophies in both Italy and Turkey. The Super Eagles frontman is expected to be one of the most in-demand strikers during the summer transfer window, with Premier League giants Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea reportedly interested in signing him from Napoli.
