Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen has emphasized that his objective and that of the club is to claim the Super Lig title and earn the coveted “five star”, following his impressive hat-trick in Galatasaray’s 4-0 thrashing of Antalyaspor.
Galatasaray’s crest currently displays four stars, symbolizing their 20 Süper Lig championships. Having secured 24 league titles, the Turkish giants are now just one title shy of adding a fifth star to their crest and they went one step closer to achieving this feat by defeating Antalyaspor.
Victor Osimhen was uncontainable in the 4-0 victory, scoring the opener in the 30th minute before selflessly allowing Alvaro Morata to take and convert a penalty for Galatasaray’s second goal. Osimhen continued his dominance with another exceptional finish to make it 3-0, before completing his hat-trick in the 52nd minute.

Victor Osimhen’s maiden hat-trick for Galatasaray propelled his season tally to 20 league goals in 22 appearances as well as four assists. Across all competitions, the Nigerian striker has amassed an impressive 26 goals and five assists in 30 outings, highlighting his remarkable consistency that has significantly contributed to Galatasaray’s unbeaten league run this season.
In his post-match interview, Osimhen emphasized that his primary objective remains helping Galatasaray secure the coveted “five-star” status: “The objective that the club has set for itself is to get the five star and we are on course to be able to achieve this feat. I came here to also contribute. We have a bunch of players that can get the job done and I think we are an amazing group with big solidarity.”
Osimhen expressed his delight at scoring his first hat-trick for Galatasaray but stressed that his personal ambitions take a backseat to the team’s goal: “I’m happy to get my first Galatasaray hat-trick and I know more is to come, but this is not my ambition.
“My ambition is to ensure that me and my teammates achieve this objective to get the five-star, which is the most important thing for all Galatasaray fans worldwide, and we are on course to do it, so I’m really looking forward to it,” he added.

Discussing his decision to let Alvaro Morata take the penalty, Osimhen revealed that he is the designated penalty-taker, but chose to allow Morata take the spot kick.
“I’m the designated player to take the penalty, and Morata is also on the list. For me, I already got my goal, and Morata is an important figure in this team. He has been an amazing person since he came. He has shown every one of us, even the players in the academy, so much love, and he has brought his experience also.”
Osimhen attributed the team’s success to the strong bond among players, citing his relationship with Morata as an example: “The dressing room is amazing. We’ve got big solidarity for each other and big love. If Morata was in my shoes, he’ll give me the penalty to play because we share a mutual respect. I’m happy he got his goal, and I know he’s someone who will help us in our cause to get the five-star.”
When asked about his future with the club, Osimhen stated that he is committed to helping Galatasaray achieve their objectives for the season. “I already made it clear that I’m here to stay, and I’m here until the end of the season. After the season, we will see. We’re going to have a dialogue and see what’s best for both parties. I really love this club, and I’m not thinking about the transfer for now. My objective is to make sure this club achieves the targets they have set for this season and the future.”

Osimhen also praised his teammate Baris Asper Yilmaz, who assisted his second goal, highlighting their strong relationship on and off the pitch: “I have a great relationship with all my teammates, and Baris has been an amazing person. Since I came here, I’ve seen his quality, and I know that he can be up there. We’ve been working, and I think the connection is really building on the pitch because off the pitch, we have a great relationship.”
