Victor Osimhen has issued a rallying call to his teammates ahead of Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe, describing the remaining matches in the campaign as battles that must be won at all costs.

Osimhen, who scored both goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Rwanda on Friday, believes the team must approach Tuesday’s match with full intensity.

“We are ready. The remaining matches are wars and we must fight them with all that we have to win,” the Napoli striker said upon arrival in Uyo.

The Eagles play Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo on Tuesday, looking for their first home win in the qualifying campaign.

Nigeria’s victory over Rwanda reignited their hopes in the qualification race, and another win against Zimbabwe will further strengthen their position. Osimhen, along with teammates Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon, will be expected to lead the attacking charge as the Eagles aim for back-to-back victories.

A win on Tuesday would take Nigeria to nine points, keeping them in firm contention for a World Cup spot, especially if Benin Republic and South Africa cancel each other out in their fixture at Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan.
