Premier League side Brentford have appointed Keith Andrews as their new head coach on a three-year contract, a move that will see Super Eagles duo Frank Onyeka and Benjamin Fredrick work under new leadership, Bold Sports reports.

Andrews will step in to replace Thomas Frank, who recently left the club to take over as Tottenham Hotspur manager after nearly seven years at the helm of the Bees.

The 44-year-old has been part of Brentford’s coaching staff this season, serving as the club’s set-piece coach. Prior to that, he was a member of Chris Wilder’s coaching staff at Sheffield United.

Andrews also brings a wealth of coaching experience from his time as assistant manager at Milton Keynes Dons and as part of Stephen Kenny’s backroom team with both the Republic of Ireland Under-21 and senior national teams.

Onyeka’s future at the club remains uncertain, however. The Nigerian midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Augsburg, is attracting interest from Burnley, Stuttgart, and Fiorentina as he looks to secure more consistent playing time.

Meanwhile, highly-rated defender Benjamin Fredrick is expected to gradually transition into Brentford’s first-team setup following an impressive season with the club’s development squad, where he was named U-21 Players’ Player of the Season.

Fredrick recently made his senior debut for Nigeria in the Unity Cup, starting in the final as the Super Eagles triumphed over Jamaica on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw in London. The 20-year-old will now be aiming to make his Premier League debut under Andrews.
