Kenneth Omeruo believes that early preparation and proper organisation will be key for the Super Eagles as they aim to turn their fortunes around and qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Super Eagles are currently in a precarious position in their qualification group, sitting fifth with just three points from four games. However, Omeruo is confident the team can still secure a ticket to the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“I strongly believe we can win all our remaining group games and qualify for the World Cup,” Omeruo said during an X Space on Monday.

The Kasimpasa defender stressed the importance of proper planning by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to ensure the team is well-prepared for the remaining qualifiers.

“I would say early preparation will be key to helping us achieve the goal. Starting from the Nigeria Football Federation, the players have to put our focus on these games and start to prepare early,” he said.

Omeruo highlighted the need for officials to make advance arrangements for away matches to ensure the players are comfortable and focused on the task at hand.

“If it is an away match, we need officials going ahead of the players for a few days to ensure everything is organized — the bus, the hotels, the training pitch, etc.,” he said.

According to Omeruo, if every stakeholder plays their part, the Super Eagles have what it takes to win their remaining matches and secure qualification.

“If everyone does their jobs and we go there with high spirits and fitness from our clubs, I think we will achieve it and win all our games,” Omeruo said.

The Super Eagles will next face Rwanda in Kigali on March 17 before hosting Zimbabwe in Uyo a week later.
