Super Eagles fullback Ola Aina has committed his future to Nottingham Forest by signing a new three-year contract, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
Aina’s previous contract was set to expire next summer, but the new deal will now keep the 28-year-old at the City Ground until 2028. The Nigerian international has been a key figure for Forest since joining the club on a free transfer in July 2023 from Torino.
Since his arrival, Aina has become an integral part of Nottingham Forest’s defence, valued for his consistency and defensive solidity. In his debut season with Forest, he made 22 Premier League appearances, scoring once and providing one assist.

Aina’s consistency continued into the 2024–25 season, where he featured in 35 Premier League matches, contributing two goals and one assist. His strong displays were crucial as Nottingham Forest secured qualification for the UEFA conference league — a significant improvement from the previous season when they finished just above the relegation zone.
His impressive performances over the course of the season earned him nominations for the EA Sports FC Team of the Season, the Premier League Fans’ Team of the Season, and Nottingham Forest’s Swizzels Sweetest Strike of the Season award.
By securing Aina’s future, Nottingham Forest have held onto one of their most dependable performers amid reported interest from other Premier League clubs.
The new deal not only underlines the club’s faith in Aina but also ensures defensive stability as Forest continue to build towards sustained Premier League success.
