Two players of Nigerian descent, Nneka Ogwumike and Arike Ogunbowale, have been named in ESPN’s list of the top 25 WNBA players ahead of the 2025 season.

The WNBA preseason is currently underway, with the regular season set to tip off on May 16.

Expectations are high for what promises to be an electrifying season. Reigning MVP A’ja Wilson will lead the Las Vegas Aces in their bid for another championship, while Breanna Stewart aims to guide the New York Liberty in defending their title.
