Super Eagles head coach, Éric Chelle, and his agent, Sidibe, held a private meeting today with the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Alhaji Shehu Dikko to strategize for the future of the team.
The NSC have been vocal in their support for Eric Chelle and the Super Eagles as the Chairman, Shehu Dikko as well as the Director-General, Bukola Olapade were at Kigali to cheer the team onto their 2-0 victory over Rwanda, reviving their World Cup hopes.
After securing the crucial win over Rwanda, Nigerians were left disappointed against Zimbabwe, as a late equalizer in the final minutes of the game broke the Super Eagles’ hearts, leaving them fourth in their World Cup qualifier group with seven points.

The NSC, with the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, have been working towards their objective of revitalizing Nigerian sports. The private meeting with Eric Chelle thus indicates a step in the right direction, aimed at sharing ideas on how to improve the national team.
The private meeting suggests that the NSC trust the ability of Eric Chelle despite tactical decisions that frustrated Nigerians when they drew with Zimbabwe in Uyo.
Nonetheless, Nigerian fans remain optimistic that the collaboration between the NFF, NSC, and Eric Chelle will revitalize the Super Eagles, bringing back the glory days and ensuring the team can compete for major titles in major tournaments.
