Galatasaray’s attempt to re-sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has hit a stumbling block, as Napoli have rejected a third bid worth €75 million from the Turkish champions according to Sports Journalist Buchi Laba, Bold Sports reports.

Galatasaray’s offer for Osimhen was formally presented during a meeting on Wednesday between club delegates George Gardi and Vice President Abdullah Kavukcu and Napoli officials.

The Turkish side are willing to pay €75m — Osimhen’s release clause value — in installments but Napoli are adamant on the amount being triggered at once.

Napoli are reportedly frustrating Osimhen’s move to Galatasaray as they prefer the bid from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal who are willing to trigger the release clause and already have an agreement in place with the Italian side.

However, Osimhen has made it clear that he will not sign for Al Hilal due to his desire to remain in Europe and potentially compete in the UEFA Champions League. The striker’s priority is to remain at Galatasaray and he has already agreed personal terms on a three-year contract running until June 2028, with the option for an additional year.

The 26-year-old has also told reportedly Napoli that he would not report for pre-season, neither would he play for the club any longer.

Galatasaray remain relentless in their pursuit of the Nigerian striker and will try again to agree a deal with Napoli that would favour all parties involved. This will also allow them break Alvaro Morata’s loan deal as the Spaniard is close to joining Como from AC Milan.

During his loan spell at Galatasaray, Osimhen delivered an exceptional campaign, scoring 37 goals and providing seven assists, earning him both the Super Lig Golden Boot and the Goal of the Season award.

He also played a pivotal role as the Istanbul side secured the Turkish Super Lig title for the third year in a row while claiming the Turkish Cup, ending a six-year wait for the prestigious trophy.
