Newly promoted French Ligue 1 side Paris FC have reached an agreement to sign experienced Super Eagles winger Moses Simon from Nantes in a deal worth €7 million.

The Nigeria international is set to sign a three-year contract that will keep him in the French capital until 2028. Simon, who has one year left on his current deal with Nantes, is expected to become Paris FC’s first signing ahead of the 2025/26 season, subject to a medical.

According to reputable French outlet L’Équipe, both clubs have agreed on the €7 million transfer fee, bringing an end to Simon’s six-year spell with Nantes.

Reports also suggest that the 29-year-old will earn a significantly improved salary at Paris FC, as the club bolsters its squad ahead of its return to Ligue 1 after a 46-year absence.

Moses Simon had previously expressed his desire to leave Nantes at the end of the season, with earlier reports indicating his preference for a move outside France as a gesture of respect to the club. However, Paris FC’s ambitious project appears to have swayed the forward.

During his time at Nantes, Moses Simon was one of the club’s most consistent performers, winning multiple Player of the Month awards and playing a crucial role in helping the team avoid relegation. He scored 37 goals and provided 42 assists in 201 appearances across all competitions.

In the recently concluded season, he contributed eight goals and 10 assists, further underlining his value.

Simon’s experience and creativity will be vital for Paris FC as they aim to establish themselves in the French top-flight and avoid an immediate return to Ligue 2.
