AS Roma is eyeing Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye as a potential replacement for Rui Patricio, who is poised to depart the club at the season’s end.

Patricio’s recent performance has faltered, and at 35 years old, Roma feels the need for a fresh direction in their goalkeeping lineup. The Giallorossi have identified Lecce’s Wladimiro Falcone (28) and Maduka Okoye (24) as their prime targets.

Okoye, who joined the Serie A outfit last summer, initially served as the backup to Marco Silvestri. However, he seized the opportunity when Silvestri’s form waned. In six appearances for Udinese, Okoye has showcased his skills, maintaining two clean sheets.

This potential move would be a significant milestone for Okoye, who has overcome adversity to establish himself as the preferred goalkeeper option.
