Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has retained his €60m valuation, making him the sixth most valuable player in the Serie A according to the latest figures released by renowned football statistics website Transfermarkt.

This comes after a record-breaking season for Lookman as he scored 20 goals in all competitions for the first time in his career while also adding six assists, his second-best assist tally.

Lookman was particularly impressive in the Champions League, scoring his first goal against Shakhtar Donetsk before netting against Stuttgart, Real Madrid, Sturm Graz and Club Brugge, taking his tally to five goals in the tournament.

The 27-year-old is behind four Inter Milan players who occupy the top four spots in the league including Argentina’s Lautaro Martinez at €95m, Alessandro Bastoni (€80m), Marcus Thuram (€75m), and Nicolo Barella (€75m). AC Milan’s Portuguese winger Rafael Leao holds fifth place with a €70m valuation, making him the third most valuable player from Portugal.

After an impressive season with Fiorentina, 25-year-old striker Moise Kean is now the seventh most valuable player in the Serie A with a €50m valuation, while Napoli’s Scott McTominay (€50m), Atalanta’s Ederson (€50m) and Inter’s Federico Dimarco (€50m) round out the top 10.

Ademola Lookman’s €60m valuation makes him the most valuable player in Atalanta and the second most valuable from Nigeria, only behind Victor Osimhen at €70m. The two Nigerian stars are ahead of Victor Boniface (€40m), Alex Iwobi (€28m), and Fulham’s player of the season Calvin Bassey (€25m).

Meanwhile, Lookman is now the ninth most valuable player born in 1997 worldwide and ranks 61st overall among the most valuable players globally.

While Atalanta’s new coach Ivan Jurić is eager to keep Lookman, interest is rising from clubs like Napoli — who view the 27-year-old as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia — and Barcelona looking to improve their attack, setting the stage for a potential transfer battle over the Nigerian international.
