The Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Lagos State Football Coaches Association (LSFCA) and Eduball Academy are teaming up to elevate coaching education in Lagos, building on their existing partnership to discuss new initiatives and strategies for improving coaching standards across the state.
The meeting, which took place at the LSFA Complex in Surulere, Lagos, had in attendance the Lagos State Football Association represented by the Chairman, Alhaji Liameed Gafar, the Technical Director of Eduball Academy, Micah Bello and the Head of Football Operations, Muhammed Yussuf.
During the sit-down, all parties acknowledged the need to bolster the quality and frequency of coaching education initiatives in the state and discussed probable avenues to make it possible.
Alhaji Liameed Gafar preached that investing in coaching could yield significant returns for the state, as it would lead to the development of high-quality players and potentially lucrative profits from player sales.

“I don’t see investment in coaching education as a CSR. I see it as a business because better coaches mean better players and better players mean great football business which cuts across gate takings, merchandising, TV Rights, Players Transfers and many more,” the Chairman said.
Muhammed Yusuf concurred with the Chairman’s statement, highlighting Eduball’s goal to use sports as a tool for nation building: “Our objective at Eduball has always been to build human capacity through sports as a means to build the nation,” the Head of Football Operations asserted.
The Technical Director, Micah Bello, added that Eduball’s coach education programs are designed to ensure that coaches at every stage receive the necessary training and support to enhance their skills and knowledge, providing a structured pathway for development.
In his words, “Eduball coach education programmes are structured to cater to the different tiers of coaching; from aspiring coaches to foundation level coaches and coaches at the top flight.”

The meeting concluded with Eduball Academy expressing their delight with a continued partnership with LSFA and LSFCA while thanking the Chairman for his support in building capacity through sports in Lagos State.
The second phase of the meeting is scheduled for June 15th, 2025 which would include the Chairman Lagos State Football Association, Alhaji Tairu Hassan and his Executive Committee.
It is hoped that the partnership between Eduball, the Lagos State Football Association and the Lagos State Football Coaches Association will bridge the coaching education gap, offering opportunities for coaches to develop professionally, enhance their skills, and contribute to player development and football excellence.
This collaboration is also expected to yield significant benefits, including improved national team performance at all levels in the long term.
