EFL Championship sides Sheffield United and Watford, as well as Greek giants Panathinaikos, are interested in signing Sevilla striker Kelechi Iheanacho before the close of the January transfer window.
Iheanacho joined Sevilla in the summer as a free agent but has failed to impress at the club despite the high expectations placed on him due to his years of experience at the top flight in England.
The Nigeria international has failed to find the back of the net in nine La Liga games for Sevilla and has been left out of their last four league games. Despite his failure to score in the league, he’s had a good outing in the Copa del Rey with three goals from two appearances.

According to reports, Sheffield and Watford have created a path for the Nigeria international to return to England via the championship route, but the 28-year-old could be more interested in waiting to land a Premier League club.
Panathinaikos, on the other hand, are also said to have opened discussions with the former Leicester City forward, giving him an opportunity to move to a fresh country and a new challenge. Iheanacho is, however, yet to make a decision.
Sevilla will not be standing in the way of the striker should he decide to leave, as he joined them on a free transfer. Leeds United are also one of the clubs that have shown interest in the Nigerian.
Iheanacho will be seeking a team where he will be able to clock good playing time and a league with visibility, as he will have an eye set on representing Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in December and also be available for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
