Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has been included in the WhoScored Premier League Gameweek 31 team of the week after his remarkable performance, scoring a goal and assisting another to help Fulham secure a thrilling 3-1 victory over league leaders Liverpool at Craven Cottage.
Iwobi, who had not scored in 14 games for club and country gave Fulham the lead in the 32nd minute after Alexis Mac Allister’s opening goal was cancelled out by Ryan Sessegnon. Few minutes after scoring, the Nigerian midfielder assisted Rodrigo Muniz who beat Van Dijk to claim the ball, before slotting it through Kelleher’s legs, giving the Cottagers a 3-1 lead.
Despite Luis Diaz’ second half-goal to reduce the deficit, the home side stayed composed in defense, ultimately securing victory and ending Liverpool’s long unbeaten away record which lasted almost exactly a year.
Iwobi’s contribution was vital not only in attack, but also in protecting Fulham’s lead, completing seven recoveries, two ground duels, one tackle and one interception.

The WhoScored team of the week features several top performers from the Premier League. The team includes Mark Flekken (Brentford) in goal, with Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace), Dara O’Shea (Ipswich United), Fabian Schar (Newcastle United) and Keane Lewis-Potter (Brentford) in defense.
Brennan Johnson (Tottenham), Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace), and Matheus Fernandes (Southampton) join Alex Iwobi in midfield while West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen leads the attack alongside Evanilson (Bournemouth).

Iwobi’s outstanding performance earned him the second-highest rating in the team (8.17), only behind Tottenham’s Brennan Johnson (8.97) who scored a brace to help Spurs secure a 3-1 victory over Southampton and officially relegate the Saints from the Premier League.
Iwobi will hope to maintain his form when Fulham visit Bournemouth on Monday, April 14. The Cottagers will be determined to achieve another victory as they continue to target finishing in the spots for European qualification.
